Emma-Louise Fusari – An Inspirational Woman In Tech!

An Inspirational Woman in Tech!

An inspirational woman in tech is what In-House Health’s founder Emma-Louise Fusari has just been described as, in a blog written by Adzooma

Featured around International Women’s Day; Jaye Bonser wanted to showcase some of the current outstanding women in the tech industry and share their thoughts and experiences, in what is still a male dominated sector!

The questions were based around the landscape for females in tech. Has it changed? How has it changed? and What do those changes look like for the future?

Here are some of the questions asked and the answers from Emma that were not featured in the blog:

Why do you think it’s important for more women to join the tech industry?

Gender diversity really benefits organisations and by having more women involved it can lead to increased creativity and enhanced problem-solving solutions.
There is currently a vast marketplace of female-specific products that lack innovation; due to most tech businesses being male dominated. Organisations run by women or that have females in decision making roles, have an opportunity to excel and develop in these areas.
Research also shows that having women in leadership roles leads to increased revenues.

How much do you think the industry has changed since you joined?

There has definitely been a shift in promoting and raising the profile of women in tech, however there is still a long way to go. Women in tech still face systemic bias and sexism which leads to both women deciding not to pursue a career in the industry or leaving after only being involved for a short period of time.
With women like Anne Boden and Hilary Stephenson lighting the way for females within the tech sector, we can be hopeful that young girls will start to see more role models to encourage them to study and follow a career into tech.

What advice would you give yourself just starting out?

I have always been independent and strong willed and believe I have real value to offer and benefit organisations, individuals and society. Due to that belief, I use it to drive me forward every day.

I would advise myself, ‘if it was easy everyone would be doing it” It’s a bit cliché but you do have to take the rough with the smooth in all areas of life, it’s how you cope and deal with the rough that matters!
