Why a structured approach matters
UK employers lose an estimated £85 billion a year to poor workplace health, through sickness absence, turnover, and lost productivity (Keep Britain Working Review, 2025).
Meanwhile, spending on workplace health provision sits at a fraction of that, around £2 to £6 billion a year across the whole UK workforce.
In social care, that gap costs more than money. It costs employees. It costs care quality. And it shows up the day a CQC inspector walks through your door.
M.E.T.A. closes that gap.

Take our M.E.T.A. approach
M.E.T.A. is our four-step process: measure, evaluate, transform, and analyse the state of workforce health in your organisation.
Choose M.E.T.A. if you want to:
- Identify current problems and put practical changes in place that prevent future work-related ill health, so your organisation can sustain a stable, well-supported workforce
- Retain and attract good care staff by showing them, with real initiatives, that you take their health and wellbeing seriously, so you can reduce the cost and disruption of turnover
- Understand where your organisation is strong and where it needs improvement, so you can plan strategically and improve outcomes for the people in your care
Built for the realities of social care
Our approach exists because of the specific pressures your sector carries:
- Burnout and compassion fatigue. Over half of care workers report excessive stress or pressure (The Care Workers’ Charity, 2025)
- Persistent turnover. 23.6% annually across the sector (Skills for Care, 2026)
- Shift work impacts. Affecting sleep, health, and performance
- Resource pressures. Squeezing both staff health and wellbeing and service delivery

Benchmark your workforce health in two half-day sessions
A standalone diagnostic that benchmarks your organisation against five core areas of workplace health promotion: Policy, Culture, Planning, Implementation, and Results.
Every question in the audit is individually mapped to a specific CQC Quality Statement, so the evidence you walk away with doesn’t just benchmark your organisation. It speaks directly to what an inspector will ask.
You’ll walk away with:
- A score for each of the five core competencies, plus an overall In-House Health Score
- A clear, evidenced picture of where your organisation currently stands, built from a structured discussion working through 40 strategic questions
- A personalised report and recommendations to build or refine your workforce health and wellbeing strategy
- A benchmark you can point to as evidence of proactive workforce health management, ahead of your next CQC inspection
- A solid foundation to build on if you move into the full M.E.T.A. Programme®
Delivered across two half-day sessions with one of our clinically led consultants: working through the assessment, followed by a shorter session presenting your findings and priority actions.
Build a 12-month, evidence-based workforce health strategy
Where the Risk Audit gives you a snapshot of what your operational processes look like. The M.E.T.A. Programme® gives you a sustained, evidence-based process of improvement across 12 months, based on employee health status. So you can:
- Identify and address the root causes of work-related ill health before they become resignations, long-term sickness absence, or incidents
- Build a stronger case for CQC inspection, with structured, ongoing evidence of how you manage workforce health and minimise the risk to outstanding service provision
- Retain staff by showing them, with data and action, that you take their health seriously
- Track progress over time, not just a single snapshot
What you actually get
Measure
We assess how your organisation is performing on workplace health promotion through the M.E.T.A. Risk Audit, and measure employee health through confidential health checks with one of our qualified nurses. Each check takes around 45 minutes, in person or virtually, covering physical health, mental health, lifestyle, financial wellbeing, and workplace culture.
Evaluate
Every employee receives their own confidential report with advice and signposting. We build an organisation-wide report from anonymised data across the team, identifying current problems and future risks, then work with you to shape a workforce health strategy and review your existing policies.
Transform
We deliver training and education targeted at the specific problem areas your bespoke report identifies, plus leadership support for your team.
Analyse
Twelve months in, we check whether the targets set at the start have been met, and identify what still needs addressing as part of your long-term workforce and care outcome improvement plan.

What delivery looks like today
Right now, the M.E.T.A. Programme® is delivered directly by our clinical team. Emma-Louise and our consultants work alongside you to gather data, run the assessments, and provide your reports and recommendations.
We’re building a cloud-based platform to support this at scale, so you’ll eventually have an ongoing, always-on view of your workforce health and business impact data rather than point-in-time reports. We’ll tell you as new features go live. What you get today is the same clinical expertise and evidenced approach, delivered personally.
